Sustainability Management Program



Program Content

Sustainability is one of the key issues of 21st Century. This is confirmed by the increased attention paid by global agencies, governments, media, academia and the industries. Malaysia has embarked upon the new Economic Transformation Plan (ETP), wherein inclusiveness and sustainability are the basic pillars of Vision 2020.

Sustainable development ultimately means sustainable business. The stakeholders of business like consumers, investors have started expecting sustainability based accountability from business and government services. The customers are asking question on components of the product. Global institutions, especially banks are concerned about the waste disposal or what happens when the product is not in use. Investors are asking how the raw materials were extracted. Governments are imposing tax. As a consequence, policy makers, industry leaders, society and academics with different backgrounds are today trying to understand how sustainability affects traditional way of doing business, and, as well, how traditional businesses are affected by sustainability. Additionally, what roles can be played by Government?
